overview. It is estimated that some form of digestive disorder affects more than 100 million people in America. That is more than half of the U.S. population.
For some people, digestive disorders are a source of irritation and discomfort that may cause them to drastically limit their lifestyles and to frequently miss work. For others, the disorders may be extremely crippling and even fatal.

Gastroenterology is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the entire digestive system including esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, and gall bladder.
