LASER VEIN REMOVAL

* Varicose leg veins * Fine facial veins * Port wine stains * Spider veins * Birthmarks

Laser Vein Removal is used to treat a wide range of vascular lesions from spider veins to deeper reticular leg veins. Laser Vein Removal treatments improve blood circulation by removing unused veins. Laser Vein Removal is used to varicose leg veins, fine facial veins, spider veins and even birthmarks.

Varicose Veins are enlarged veins that are swollen and raised above the surface of the skin. They can be dark purple or blue, and look twisted and bulging. Varicose veins are commonly found on the backs of the calves or on the inside of the leg. They develop when valves in the veins that allow blood to flow toward the heart stop working properly. As a result, blood pools in the veins and causes them to get larger.

There are three ways that we can treat Leg Veins: Sclerotherapy, Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy and Endovenous Laser Ablation.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is used to treat surface veins. This involves injecting a solution, called a sclerosing solution, directly into the blood vessel with a very fine needle. This solution irritates the lining of the vessel, which in turn causes it to swell and stick together. Over a period of weeks, the vessel then fades from view.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy
Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy enables deeper veins to be treated without surgery.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (ELA)
This is the latest technology available to treat Leg Veins. In Endovenous Laser Ablation treatment, laser light is used to heat and seal damaged deeper veins that lead to varicose veins.

Laser Vein Removal can have some discomfort associated with treatments and the level of discomfort will depend on the individual. Most treatments take about 30minutes to perform. Following treatment your daily routine should not be disrupted, however heavy physical exercise or workloads should be avoided for about 2 weeks following each treatment.

Laser Vein Removal is very effictive, when treated correctly, and the veins removed will not come back, as the body has absorbed them. New veins however, may appear with time, as the same causative hereditary factors still exist. These new veins are generally less
pronounced and can be easily treated. In some patients maintenance treatment is required to keep new vessel growth to a minimum.
