Lippman Eyecare Centers - Jay Lippman, M.D.
Jay Lippman, MD, FACS, ABES, is recognized both nationally and internationally as a pioneer, innovator and teacher of advanced ophthalmic surgical technique. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has received the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s prestigious Honor Award. Dr. Lippman is certified in both cataract surgery and LASIK surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery and serves as a Director of both the American College of Eye Surgeons and the American Board of Eye Surgery.
In September of 1996, Dr. Lippman became the first surgeon to perform LASIK in Westchester County. Having performed more than 20,000 ophthalmic surgical procedures, he is one of the New York metropolitan area’s most experienced and respected eye surgeons. As a testament to his surgical excellence, Dr. Lippman has been listed repeatedly in Woodward and White’s elite medical reference, The Best Doctors in America. In addition, Dr. Lippman serves as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College.
Dr. Lippman personally designed and managed the construction of the Eye Surgery Center of Westchester. Conveniently located in lower Westchester, this fully state-licensed, Medicare-approved ambulatory surgery center offers the latest technology for cataracts and LASIK Westchester County patients. It is the only ambulatory surgery center in Westchester County devoted exclusively to ophthalmology.
Dr. Lippman performs cataract surgery in Westchester by using the Alcon Infinity phaco-emulsifier-aspirator, the most advanced cataract removal instrument available. In addition, he routinely uses state-of-the-art Zeiss Lumera customized surgical microscope with coaxial steriopsis for both cataract and anterior segment surgical procedures. Dr. Lippman has selected the Bausch and Lomb Technolas laser platform with Zyoptix technology for his new Westchester laser eye surgery center. This “flying spot” laser allows him to customize treatment for each patient, while virtually eliminating post-LASIK / post-PRK glare and haloes associated with other lasers. LASIK takes only a few minutes for each eye and is virtually painless. While it might take only a short moment, LASIK procedure delivers remarkable, lasting results. Dr. Lippman says, “More than 95 percent of my LASIK patients see 20/20 without glasses!”
